Overwatch® Recent Changes

Sombra moved from Damage/Recon to Support/Tactician. Hack was removed, while Hotfix now heals allies for up to 175 total health and can hack health packs and most enemy deployables. Cyberspace creates a 3-second zone that damages enemies, heals allies, and applies Weaken, which reduces the target’s damage and healing output by 50%.

Cyberspace’s explosion damage was reduced from 40 to 20. EMP damage fell from 25% to 20% of current health and its ultimate cost increased by 67.5%. Machine Pistol damage was reduced from 8 to 7, then to 6.5 per projectile, while its falloff distance and sustained spread behavior were improved.

The new 5v5 Open Queue mode uses random role and hero choices, Best-of-3 Control rounds, progression levels, and Common, Epic, and Legendary Powers. Deaths and respawns can grant 10% Ultimate Charge, 40% Max Life Overhealth, and 30% out-of-combat movement speed.

Added Grímsvötn, a playable Escort payload map set in a prison.

Hit volumes were adjusted across a broad set of heroes, with increases to many head, torso, waist, and leg regions and reductions to selected limbs and other areas. Global hitscan projectile sizes were reduced from 0.07 to 0.04 meters for large projectiles and from 0.04 to 0.02 meters for small projectiles.

Doctrine’s ultimate cost, Transfusion conversion, Invigorating Drones attack speed, Shrouded Momentum cooldown and damage reduction, Eternal Scepter damage/healing, and Deliverance durations were reduced or adjusted; Deliverance’s drone fire rate increased from 4 to 5. Kiriko’s base health rose from 225 to 250, while D.Mon’s base armor fell from 275 to 250.

Top 500 leaderboard sorting and end-of-season titles now reference actual Rank instead of Challenger Score. Challenger Score remains an eligibility requirement for the 500 players on the leaderboard, and Heat Bonus was removed.
